The Higher Professional Technical Course in Industrial Management 4.0 develops the specific technical skills to start a professional activity in the field of industrial management based on Industry 4.0 principles.

A graduate of this course will gather skills to support, promote and implement management activities in an industrial context at the level of the production process, industrial planning and maintenance, quality, procurement and people management aiming at the optimization of production, using modern principles of Industry 4.0. The graduate will also be a promoter of innovation and operational efficiency of companies supporting its activity by management support information systems.

One of the main challenges faced by national companies is related to the efficiency and effectiveness of their operational activity, which require increasing digitization and automation of production, logistics, distribution and communication processes. Indeed, in addition to the development and optimization of internal processes, it becomes necessary to incorporate technological innovation evidenced by the paradigm of Industry 4.0. Thus, with this course, ESTG | P. PORTO asserts itself as a forerunner of differentiating factors that contribute to the development of the business fabric enabling it through best practices at the level of processes and systems for the development of its industrial process.

Specifically, a graduate of this course will be able to develop the following activities:

1) Manage, monitor and control the different activities that make up the industrial organization, by conventional methods or assisted by information systems, with a view to their optimization;

2) Analyze and follow up the distribution and logistics processes, in view of their adequacy to the productive process;

3) Organizing and managing human resources with a view to operational optimization and the achievement of strategic objectives, guaranteeing the levels of satisfaction, hygiene and safety at work and occupational health;

4) To collaborate in the development and implementation of quality, environment and safety plans;

5) Collaborate in internal activities and their costing and elaborate reports to support management control; Supporting the management of equipment in cyber-physical systems;

6) Collaborate in the activities of implementation of management support information system supported by the principles of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Industry 4.0;

7) Accompany programming actions and database design as management support means;

8) Design, implement and/or support the implementation of industrial layout using control systems, supervision and automation of production processes

9) Plan, implement and control processes;

10) To manage and coordinate projects.

The candidates who meet at least one of the following conditions are eligible to enrol in the Higher Professional Technical Course of Industrial Management 4.0: Hold a secondary education course or a legally equivalent qualification that proves having successfully completed the subject of Mathematics . Have been approved in the tests specially designed to assess the capacity to attend higher education for those over 23 years old, carried out for the course in question, pursuant to Decree-Law 64/2006, of 21 March, as amended by Decree-Law 113/2014, of 16 July and by Decree-Law 63/2016, of 13 September. Hold a technological specialization diploma or a vocational higher technical diploma or a higher education degree.
